Château de Miguillaume

An 18th-19th century castle, in Directoire style, in the middle of its park of century-old trees

Located in the Chambois plain, on the edge of the Gouffern forest, the 18th century Miguillaume castle was renovated and embellished in the 19th century by Louis François Alexandre Goupil de Préfeln, made a baron of the Empire for his support of Napoleon. Its Directoire style gives it a proud appearance in the middle of its park of now century-old trees.

From the 1900s, the castle was a sought-after diplomatic vacation spot.

Today, the nearby Haras national du Pin and the beaches of Normandy complete its rich historical past.

Having fallen under the spell of this castle in the fall of 2021, we have undertaken renovation work to restore it to its former appearance and reopen this place to our guests who we welcome in rooms and table d’hôtes.
